snow?

yesturday i was sitting in my living room reading and i looked up and out the window and saw this unfamiliar white substance falling from the sky. "what could that be?" i asked to myself. so i got up and went outside to investigate further. as i proceeded to go outside i heard voices yelling "its snowing!!!" and everybody was taking pictures. once i realized i was stoked so i took some pictures of my own of this magnificent event.

this morning i woke up and looked out my window to find this...

snow covering everything! so, like the true californian that i am i bundled up the best i could and took some more pictures.

i think that this is will be the last pictures i will take because though it might be a cool new experience now, i think it is going to be one of those things that gets old fast. but for now its pretty.

the best days of the semester have been the days that i get packages. i just want to say that i have the best mom in the world to send me all these packages. when i know a package is coming i check the mail like everyday!!! i just frickin love it. the best so far though was recieving an amazing package from another one of my most favorite people ever(ROXY) plus two big containers of my moms cookies. i was stoked out of my mind! i totally cried. so i just wanted to say thank you for this thoughtful gift. it was much appreciated! and thank you soooo much to the groseclose family as well for bringing these wonderful gifts to me. you all are the best! thanks again!

so you dont have a car?

hey its not a big deal. the grocery store isnt that far. only like a couple miles. and walking back with 50 pounds of groceries in your back pack and another 50 pounds in your hands isnt even a big deal either. it is even better doing it in like 20 degree weather. i love being a freshmen!!! :)

so im in college...

this is just to prove to you all that i really am in college. i know i have been horrible at calling people and keeping in contact but i promise it is not because im not too cool for you. this is what i have been doing.

and this was just one trip to the library...

so i am sorry for not being social but i love and miss all of you!!!

ducks...and geese

supposedly, as a little girl, my sister tisha was bitten by a goose. my mom loves to tell this story. so, growing up with this story i have developed a huge fear of geese. ok, with that lead up story out of the way, i will continue on with my present story. when my friend said that we were going to go feed some ducks, i was stoked. i love ducks. little did i know the massive amounts of ducks there would be nor that there would also be geese. so we get there and we only have like 4 pieces of bread. (we are starving college students remember?) we get out and walk over to with croud of ducks and they swarm us. jeremy goes to get my camera and i am left alone with all the ducks. then come the geese. they are getting right up next to me trying to get all the food but i want to share with all the ducks too. so im just throwing it all like crazy adn then....i ran out of bread. thats when i started to freak out. i started to back away but they continued to follow me. so i ran. but i guess it was good timing because i think it was time for a bath because they all turned around and went into the water. i was just lucky that no body got hurt.

the roomies

i couldnt forget about them! they are the best!!! this is me(duh), hailey, and amy!!!

BYU-IDAHO

I'M HERE!!! if you didnt know yet, i have started my new adventure in rexburg idaho. i love it so far but it has only been a week. i will blog about our road trip once i can steal some pictures from it, but i just wanted to let everybody know where i am!!!

learning to surf

i love the beach. but since i am going to be living in idaho for a very long time, i will be away from it for awhile. so my best friend jeremy and i decided to take a day and go to the beach so that i might make an attempt to learn ro surf. i wish i could have taken a movie or pictures of me trying but since we were both in the water we couldnt but i had a blast and have now made it my goal to catch one really good wave before i die. we'll see if that ever happens! :)

jeremy drives a toyota camry so the drive to the beach and back with two surf boards was a bit of a tight squeeze!!!

of course i had to have a photo shoot with jeremy and the surf board!!!!i might not be good at surfing but i look pretty darn cute in a wet suit pretending i know how to surf...if i do say so myself!

he makes surfing look easier than it really is. he's a pro!

wisdom teeth

i really dont think i need i even need to write anything about this experience. these pictures really just speak for themselves.

day one -- right after surgery
i actually was trying to smile but couldnt quite do it. my dad and friend jeremy brought me flowers. they definately made me feel better.

day two --they just kept getting bigger!
after day two i stopped taking pictures because i couldnt bare to look at myself. those dang cheeks kept getting bigger and bigger. it was ridiculous!

i know lots of people have some crazy wisdom teethe stories but i think mine is pretty good. so i have to tell it real quick and mom dont get mad at me!

so i remember waking up after the surgery in the same chair that they had done the surgery in. i remember thinking that was so funny because the nurse told me that they usually move the patients into another room with a bed unless the patient is totally out of it. so i was laughing to myself about that. then i realized that my lips were super chapped and i hate when my lips are chapped so when the nurse came in i was like complaining about it so she put some carmex on them. i just kept rubbing my lips for a long time because it felt really weird. then they came in to take me to my car and i just kept laughing. they were all laughing and i guess they told my mom that i was just super giddy . i got in the car and couldnt stop laughing. i looked at my mom and we both just started to laugh. then i realized that i hadnt said thank you to the nurses so i either opened the door or the window (i cant remember) and was waving and trying to say thank you with a mouth full of gauze which made me laugh even more. i dont really remember the drive that much because i was in and out the whole time. but i remember pulling up to safeway and my mom said that she had to go get something. i think medicine or something. well i wake up a few minutes later and am so hot, so i open the the door to get a breaze and the frickin car alarm starts wailing. i dont have the keys and im drugged up like no other and i just start freaking out. i cant get a hold of my mom (of course) and so i call my dad and am trying to tell him what is going on through my tears and a mouth full of gauze. so i have to wait for him sitting in a car that is going crazy and people just staring at me wondering what the frick is wrong with me. it was great and my mom thought i wouldnt remember but i definately did. thanks mom! :)

top 5 things i love about PROVO

1. The mountains...i think this is the thing that i miss the most about provo. every morning i would look out my window and see these beautiful mountains, and i couldnt help but think about what the pioneers must have been thinking when they first saw those mountains. i would never describe provo as an exotic place, but i could definately say that those mountains are the most majestic things i have ever seen. when i came home the first thing i noticed was how short brentwood is without all the mountains that i have now become accustomed to.

this was my first look at the mountains. unfortuately i didn't take any other pictures of them on my camera :(

2. the bus... not having a car and living quite aways from campus was a bit of a struggle. lucky for me i was able to purchase a cheap bus pass and the bus came directly to rain tree. i road the bus anywhere from 2-4 times a day and let me tell you, it changed my opinion of provo. seriously the missionaries should just ride the bus all day and they would find plenty of people to talk to. there were some nuts people. everybody from slutty girls with tongue rings trying to pick up on the 50something year old bus drivers to crazy ladies abnoxiously complainly about the mix up of her pizza. honestly i felt closer to california on the bus then anywhere else.

sorry, no pictures of all the crazies on the bus :(

3. churches...EVERYWHERE. i had always heard people make fun of provo and how there is a church on every corner, but i can top that. my first sunday i was so confused. there was one big parking lot with 2 big churches right next to eachother. one for singles and one for married couples. i totally started to laugh as i realized that i was defintely in provo. then i went into the church that was designated for singles and realized that there were 2 chaples inside each of the buildings. a north chaple and a south chaple. this definately takes the provo stereotype to the extreme.

this is kind of a bad picture but you can get the idea

4. prayer in the testing center...a picture of this moment would have been priceless but probably inappropriate. on my last day in provo, as a sat in the testing center taking my last final, this guy walked in, sat down, and totally started to pray. i just looked at him and at first was so surprised and then i just started to smile. that was definately a highlight of my summer!

5. engagement pictures on the fridge...this is when i knew i was living in a true singles ward. within the two months that i lived in provo, i had already gotten 2 wedding announcements for people that i actually knew. of course they went on the fridge.

the time that i lived in provo was short, but i will dearly miss it and wouldnt change anything about it.

my first apartment!!!

raintree commons....what an experience. four young girls living together in one small apartment...who knows what will happen. one thing is for sure....fun times are inevitable.

there were some junky things about our apartment but we made due and made it the coolest apartment in raintree! :)

the front room

dining room/kitchen

bathroom

bedroom

the first thing that i noticed when i moved into 318 was that the fridge was abnormally full for only having 2 girls living in it. when i took a closer look, i realized that both the fridge and freezer were filled with foods from as early as 2005. some of the food wasn't even distinguishable. it was straight up disgusting. so, being raised by the mother that i have, i went straight to deep cleaning this disease waiting to happen.

it is now my pride and joy!
