One Month

I can't believe our baby girl is already a month old! Time really does just fly by no matter how hard I try to slow it down. Anie took some absolutely beautiful pictures of Leila at three weeks old and since we lost all the one month photo shoot pictures, I thought this post would be the perfect time to unveil these little gems.

After a Saturday filled with several sessions of photo shoots with Aunt Anie, Leila felt like such a model. We decided to save the family pictures until the next day when I would actually have to get ready anyway. I am so happy that we got these pictures of our new little family. They are so special to me: a celebration of our eternal family.

Okay, the pictures alone say a lot about our beautiful, sweet and perfect baby Leila, but I do want to document some of the things that I love about this little girl of ours.
Still weeks later, my favorite thing is when she lays on my chest, completely content, and usually falls asleep. It reminds me of how the entire pregnancy she would snuggle right under the ribs on my right side. But outside the womb is a lot more comfy!
I love how she crosses her feet like a little lady when she eats.
I love the "Zoolander" face she makes.
(We've never been able to catch it on camera. This is the beginning of one but she really gets her lips out there when she does it.)

Speaking of lips, I love her little pout. She already knows how to do a lower-lip-pout pretty darn good! I'm nervous about this in the future!

I love her blue eyes that lighten everyday.

I love her crazy long hair that is growing in like a Mohawk.

I love how she falls asleep on my chest while I burp her.

I love how she loves diaper changes and baths.

I love her sleep cooing.

I love her fuzzy ears.

I love when she sticks her thumb in her mouth.

I love how she smiles when I pat her bum to sleep.

Her smile just melts my heart.
Her first smile was June 5th and on June 7th she gave this Mama lots of smiles! She's learning and growing so fast!

A few more things about Leila.

It took Leila a long time to want to open her eyes. She is much happier with them closed. But I love the little glimpses I get of them.

She doesn't cry much but she has this mad cry she does when I am trying to get her to sleep and she is fighting it off. Her stork bites/angel kisses get SO red!

She's a Mama's girl right now. My favorite thing was when someone else was holding her, she started crying and when I took her she stopped and just stared at me. Best feeling ever!

She's pretty good at holding her binky, bottle and me. I love when she gabs my hand to have me hold her binky in.

She likes a schedule and is easily thrown off. She likes her sleep...just like her Daddy.

There is a possibility of allergies. The first couple weeks she was sneezing five times in a row pretty often. Now she is down to three times in a row so we will see...maybe it's just the season. It could be passed down from her Daddy. One thing she unfortunately got from me is my stomach. Once a week she projectile vomits like crazy. I hate it!

She loves music, especially the piano. When she hears it, she is mesmerized.

Kody has been so cute about Leila being in the house. He is very protective and likes to be near her especially when she is left alone. I love that they get along already!

I probably shouldn't have set the precedent of such long monthly posts but I think it is pretty obvious that I am absolutely obsessed with this little girl. She has completely changed our life. While it's true that I have never been so sleep deprived in my life, I have also never been happier. I love our Leila Dawn!
