Farm Day

With only having one kid that is so little, a lot of times I find myself just sticking around home and not really taking her to do things. She is completely content playing with toys at home so why do it? However having a sister with four children who aren't content to just play at home has pushed me to do things that I normally wouldn't just do by myself. And I'm always so happy when I do!!

One of these times was the end of April when Tisha put together a trip to Maple View Farm with a bunch of her friends and invited me and any of my friends that could to join them. It was so fun! I think I was a little more into it than Leila but she seemed to like the animals and the hay ride so all together it was definitely a fun trip!
Our tour guide was so fun and entertaining!
They were lots of cute animals and we even got to see them shave the lama.
The hay ride was the perfect way to see all there was to see around the farm. There were so many cows!
There was also a class on seeds that was very informational and great for the older kids. Leila just wanted to eat the seeds so we might wait until she is a little older to do that again.

After everything we ate lunch and the kids played on the playground. This place was so kid friendly and everybody had a great time!!
The farm also has their own little dairy shop (for lack of a better word) with amazing ice cream and their famous chocolate milk. They started it because they were ending up with so much extra cream from their cows. What better thing to do with cream than to make ice cream! And man it was so delicious!
We can't wait to go back!

I love everything about this picture: laying on daddy, completely passed out with her cute belly hanging out, ladybug over her face and holding some random box like she loves to do.

Easter

I love Easter. It is such a beautiful time of the year and everything around me reminds me how blessed I am and how thankful I am for my Savior Jesus Christ. Because of Him I live a full life. I know who I am, where I came from, and where I'm going. Because of Him I can be with my family forever. I couldn't ask for anything more. On this Easter I am counting my blessings double!
After attending church we took a family walk and snapped some pictures then headed home to get dinner going. We turned on "Fining Faith in Christ" for Leila while she snacked and we cooked. She loved it!
It was such a perfect Easter together as a family celebrating the life of Jesus Christ.

We like to keep the secular traditions of Easter separate from the actually holiday of Easter. I like celebrating Easter focused on Christ but also love to have the opportunity to celebrate Spring. Earlier in the week we decorated Easter Eggs with some friends. I'm so glad we could do this with them since they have 4 year old boys and it was fun to do it with kids that actually thought it was cool. Leila didn't know what was happening. Jeremy and I had a great time though!
After Easter Leila got to open her Easter basket. She got some really fun treats.
Her new obsession is Easter Eggs. I've had these for years so it didn't cost me a thing! Woot!
This girl is so funny about stuffed animals. She loves to just hold and snuggle them. It is adorable! My "Easter Bunny" aka Roxy (since I never had an Easter basket until Roxy felt bad for me and starting getting me one each year) actually added the stuffed lamb to Leila's basket. It was perfect!
Couldn't have asked for a more perfect Easter!

Leila loves her new crib! I walking in on her playing in her room and she was just walking back and forth next to her crib and thought it was so fun!

Another first this week: Leila's first cookie! We were at a friend's house for a play date and her little boy shared a cookie with Leila without me knowing it. I looked down and saw this face. Classic!

3 Year Anniversary

Another year of marriage! I can't even believe how much has changed in the last three years that we have been married. Each year we take a picture on our anniversary holding the picture from the year before. Looking at this picture reminds me of all that we have accomplished in the last three years. We got married, moved from California to Rexburg, both graduated from college, moved back to California, had a baby, moved across the country, and started graduate school. For such a short time we have really packed in some milestones.
To celebrate Jeremy made dinner and had a few surprises for me throughout the day.
Then on the weekend we dropped Leila off with the Calhouns (so grateful for their willingness to babysit!) and hit up Lily's Pizza in Raleigh. It was so delicious I can't even describe it! To top off such a yummy dinner we kept it classy and went to Wendy's for frosty's in waffle cones. :) It was such a great date!

It has been so much fun being married to Jeremy and I have loved every minute of it. I couldn't have asked for a better partner to go through life with. Bring on another year of adventure!

Eleven Months

April 9: Eleven Months
I can't believe Leila is almost a year old! I am trying to savor every moment with my sweet baby but she is just growing up so fast.
This month I had to take her to the doctor because she has been throwing up a lot. She weighed in at 19lbs 2oz. She has seemed way less interested in her milk so I think that might be keeping her from gaining more weight. The doctor thinks she might be lactose intolerant so we are going to try soy formula for the next month and see how she does.
Leila continues to develop all her skills, especially her verbal ones and though it seems like she has been teething forever no teeth have popped through yet. They are close though!
Her first real word (other than mama, dada, and baba) came the day after her eleven month birthday but I'll still put it in this update. It was "ball"! Her favorite toy is her blue Carolina basketball and she grabbed it and said ball. Such a proud moment for me!!
This month she started really crawling, or creeping as Jeremy continually reminds me is the correct term for it. Let's just say she is up on her hands and knees now and can get around pretty quick. She has also started pulling herself up on to things and cruises around on whatever she can. Her favorite is when I take the couch cushions off because then the couch is just the perfect height for her. She will put toys up they and just go back and forth with them. ADORABLE!
This girl just melts my heart! Looks like I better get started on planning a birthday party!

Favorites of March

Couldn't leave out these few favorites from March!
I was laughing so hard as I looked over at Leila crawling and kicking her pants off as she went. I mean seriously who needs them?!
Got together for a friend's birthday this month and I couldn't resist capturing a picture of all these girls. I love that Leila will have lots of friends growing up here!
I wanted to turn these next three pictures into a sequence but I don't know how to do it on my computer. Oh well! I just love Leila's face in each of these. She loves walks with Daddy! So thankful for such great weather these days!
Also had to include these little gems. I'm pretty sure this was us watching "Frozen"...like mother like daughter...we were both really into it!
This is such a random post but I just loved each of these and couldn't leave them out. I love each of these moments! Life is so good!!
