It's no secret that our family loves the beach. Having a 2.5 hour drive to get there has been a little rough but I think it makes it even more special when we go. Other than the difference in distance, the difference in weather from California is pretty obvious. It is a whole lot more humid here!! We really felt it this trip. We took a day beach trip with our friends the Dyers and their cousins. It was a perfect sunny summer day with lots of humidity. Leila was so hot that she started putting her face into a bag of ice Kaitlyn had brought to keep their lunches cool.
After being very spoiled with warm water in Florida I think she was a little surprised by this not so warm water but we all had a blast soaking up the sun (maybe a little too much sun) and splashing around in the water.
We stopped and saw Micheal Jordan's childhood home on our way back and grabbed some Bojangles. Perfect end to the perfect day!
