Wally Flower

So Jeremy works with the young men in our ward and loves it! It is such a perfect calling for him. The second week of March he was asked to play a part in a live clue activity that the youth were putting on. He got an email asking him to play the part of "Wally Flower": the awkward, nerdy guy who can't dance and has a major crush on a girl he can't talk to. The email said that the youth thought he would be perfect for this part...Jeremy 's reaction: When did I become so uncool? Poor old Jeremy! However, he rocked the part and everyone loved him! :) He's still got it!

March 4
I totally forgot about this "Johnny Jump-Up" that my sister lent us for Leila. We had tried this out a couple of times before this but she wasn't really into it so I put it back in the closet for another day. Once I remembered I had it I decided to pull it out right away and give it another try. She actually got into this time! Unfortunately it was short lived but it was awesome for a few minutes! I was bummed that by the time I got the video camera she was over it but at least I got this one cute picture!

Ten Months

March 9: Ten Months Old
What a month it has been. Leila's little big personality is developing more and more each day. She has learned how to clap this month and just like every other trick she has learned to do I just melt whenever she does it. It is so cute and she is just so proud of herself!
The biggest change however is that this girls is officially on the move. She has started crawling (the army crawl) all over the place. This means that she can get places that she wants to go on her own and get things that she wants all on her own. I'm so excited but a more mobile child makes me nervous! Sometimes I just wish she would stay my little baby forever.
I have noticed this month to be a little more challenging. As she gets older she has realized that she has an opinion about things so she hasn't been as easy. She started giving up her second nap so that she can play more. She's such a sweet girl about it and will just play in her bed all by herself when I put her down but she will not fall asleep. Eventually I just get her. Maybe quiet time is all I'm going to get anymore. We'll see! :)
But with or without extra nap time I love every minute with this girl of mine!

A look at Leila in February

Whew! February has come and gone. This month always goes so quickly for me but especially this February. It was such a fun month with lots of celebrating and time together as a family. Here are some highlights of my favorite girl during one of my favorite months of the year.
We are raising a Carolina Tarheel for sure! This girl looks so cute in her UNC gear and her absolute favorite toy is her Carolina ball.
It is so fun to watch this little girl's personality shine through and to watch her play. It is such a small thing but she plays so well by herself and it is so fun to see how she is growing.
I've said it a million times but I just love how social my little girl is. She loves all her little friends which makes play dates lots of fun!
First time meeting her best bud Jake. She was a lot more excited about it than he was. :)
This is probably one of my favorite pictures ever. These three kids are the best of friends and I absolutely love it!
Not only is this girl a social butterfly but she is a little ham. With just a little pink, a little frill, and a pair of sunglasses this girl turns on the charm!
Her favorite place is still the bath tub with her swimmer buddies.
Loved that this one shows off her brilliant blue eyes!!
Leila loves to plank these days...just like her Daddy!
They are so much alike in so many ways and there is nobody she would rather play with than him.
He's got the play thing down but I'm not so sure about the dressing thing...
We aren't the only ones that love our Leila either...here's Leila with a Valentine package as big as her from Gram and Papa. She was so excited when we picked it up!
Totally random but this month I have been making a ton of baby food and I have been pretty proud of myself!
Leila is diggin' it too!
I dressed Leila in a very springy outfit in hopes to bring spring a little earlier. The whole day I just looked at her and felt cheery. There is just something about this girl that makes me and everyone around her happy.
Another fabulous February and excited for March!

24th Birthday

I couldn't have asked for a better birthday this year. I was so spoiled by my family and friends!
To start the day my sweet sister came out to treat me to brunch at "Ye Olde Waffle Shoppe" in downtown Chapel Hill. She brought Ez and I brought Leila so it was a fun little double date!
Leila treated me to a great nap afterward so I had some time to relax. :)

For dinner was had the sister missionaries over. We had them over for Jeremy's birthday a few months before and thought we would keep up the tradition. Jeremy made a yummy dinner with ice cream for dessert!
My sweet friend Jessica and I also went out to Coldstone with our little ones to celebrate. I loved going out and am so grateful to have great friends here!

Then on the weekend we got together with all the Calhouns to celebrate with my birthday buddies Pargie and Sam. What a fun night! Good food and THREE desserts plus a night full of laughter!
So grateful for all the love today! Here's to another great year of life!

February 24
This week the Calhouns lent Leila all their "Peoples" toys that weren't getting played with much. Leila has already put them to good use. Every moment she is awake she comes and dumps out the bucket, puts one of the Peoples in her mouth (usually the sister missionary), and starts filling the bus with all the rest.

This photo is super dark and grainy but I couldn't resist using it. One of my favorite times of the day is bedtime. I love getting all cozy with this girl and reading her favorite bedtime book, Goodnight Moon.

Valentines Day

I couldn't be luckier to have two valentines this year for Valentine's Day. These two cuties looked so cute on Sunday. I love that Jeremy is willing to match with his girls! :)

On Valentine's Day Leila gave her Daddy a sweet note that she made him. (She wanted to keep it!)
We were supposed to go to school with Jeremy for a baby lab that Leila was participating in but since it was still a snow day we got to enjoy the day at home. We had lots of time to play and of course had a photo shoot!
(My mom made this quilt for Leila and I just love it! It is made with some fabric that my mom had saved forever and it is actually how we came up with Leila's comfort item being a ladybug.)
Quick family picture
After Leila was down for bed it was date night for me and Jeremy!
I whipped up some Chic-Fil-A...ok I ran and picked it up :)
Then we watched a movie and I accidentally punched Jeremy in the face...oops!!
Besides the punch it was a great day spent with the two people I love the most. I am one lucky girl!
